Founded in 1983, General Foundries, Inc. (GFI) began with a simple premise: to produce high-quality castings and deliver dependable service. More than four decades later, that same focus—strengthened by long-standing partnerships, expanded capabilities, and a disciplined approach to execution—continues to define who we are.
We partner with customers over the long term to support municipal and infrastructure projects across both the public and private sectors nationwide. We combine deep industry experience with the operational flexibility required to meet evolving project demands, while maintaining a strong focus on consistency, accountability, and performance.
Over the years, our reputation has come to reflect not only the quality of our products, but also our commitment to reliable delivery, clear communication, and accountability on every order. Through thoughtful expansion and long-term partnerships, we have grown beyond our original import-focused roots—broadening our product portfolio and strengthening our operational capabilities.
In 2016, GFI launched its in-house fabrication facility, marking a meaningful expansion of our capabilities. What started as one project has evolved into a full-scale operation that supports integrated solutions, improved quality control, and greater adaptability for a wide range of infrastructure needs.

1991
Opens its second distribution location—and first in the Southeast—in Savannah, Georgia, expanding regional service capabilities.
1997
Continues strategic growth with the opening of a third location in Norfolk, Virginia.
2000
Begins working directly with state and municipal agencies through long-term requirements contracts.
2009
Expands its partnership with U.S. Foundry, growing from a single product offering to a catalog of more than 1,000 products.
2011
Consolidates operations from Savannah, Norfolk, and Perth Amboy into a new headquarters in North Brunswick, New Jersey.
2015
Completes the company's first in-house fabrication project, marking an important expansion of capabilities.
2016
Launches a dedicated in-house fabrication shop to support custom and project-specific requirements.
2022
Achieves AISC Certification, reinforcing a commitment to quality, compliance, and structural standards.
Today
Operating from an 18-acre facility with over 50 employees, General Foundries, Inc. continues to support a wide range of casting and fabrication needs with a focus on reliability, quality, and long-term partnerships.
